This Winter School will explore the rapidly emerging field of therapeutic ultrasound. Topics will range from an introduction to the physics and biophysics necessary for understanding these techniques through to their clinical application. This is a broad and complex topic in which the synergy of a multidisciplinary approach is particularly valuable. The Winter School will encourage this approach. Each topic will be covered by an invited speaker who is a world authority in the field.

Venue

“Les Houches School of Physics” is located in the French Alps, near Chamonix, a pleasant village of considerable charm and interest. The address is: Chemin de la Côte, F-74310 Les Houches, France. Check-in is on Sunday after 3:00pm, and check-out is on Friday before 3:00pm. Please note that you cannot stay at the School before and after these dates, as other events will take place. Please plan your travel schedule accordingly.

 

Travel to Les Houches

By airplane: the nearest airport is Geneva (GVA). A shuttle links the airport to Les Houches. When possible, we will arrange airport transfers from/to Geneva for small groups of participants on Sunday and Friday.

By train: Les Houches are accessible by train through a connection at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains Le Fayet.

Registration

Registration will open in the fall 2026. Registration fees include accommodation and meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) from Sunday dinner to Friday lunch included. Prices will apply as follows:

  • PhD student: 700€
  • Postdoctoral fellow and faculty: 800€
  • Industry: 950€
